GOAT GRANT FUNDS NEW SNOWMOBILE

This year we are thrilled to send out an extra special “Thank You!” to the Sawtooth Society. The ski club was awarded matching funds from the Society’s Mountain Goat license plate grant program for the purchase of a new snowmobile groomer. The “Goat Grant” we received made possible the purchase of an excellent new snow machine for grooming trails at Alturas Lake. We now have Polaris Titan snow machines at both Alturas Lake and at Park Creek. These powerful and nimble snowmobiles are replacing the old Yamaha Viking Pro machines that had been grooming ski trails for the last 8 years but were beginning to break down after much hard use. The Sawtooth Society receives money from the sale of Idaho State’s popular mountain goat license plate and that money helps fund various projects throughout the Sawtooth NRA geared towards maintaining or enhancing recreation facilities and opportunities.
