Friends and Fans of the Sawtooth Ski Club:
As snow flurries swirl around the cabin this morning, it feels like time to pull the skis down from the rafters and scrape off that storage wax. With the promise of a La Niña winter ahead, we’re hopeful for plenty of snow and great skiing in the Sawtooth Valley.
This year’s trail work day focused on the Alturas Lake trail system, since Park Creek was already looking great for winter grooming. The Alturas work day came just in the nick of time before the snow began to fall. Seventeen hardy volunteers came out to move slash piles, clear downed trees, and prep the trails for grooming. A huge thank-you to everyone who helped, and especially to the Forest Service crew for your invaluable support.

Thanks to your generous support last winter, we were able to fund a significant portion of the cost for a new ATV tracked groomer—but we’re not quite at the finish line yet. We’re still working to offset $8000 toward the final purchase cost, and your support can help us get there. We’re deeply grateful for the Nordic community, our neighbors, and friends who continue to make these trails possible.
