Nice trails

After a successful soup kitchen Sunday, all Alturas lake ski trails were groomed on Tuesday. With 3-4” of new snow falling over Tuesday night, all trails were groomed again on Wednesday resulting in beautiful corduroy, sharp classic tracks, blue skies and don’t forget the babbling creek… hard to top that on combination for a Thursday ski adventure.

Soup kitchen with animal crackers…

With temperatures soaring earlier this week, grooming was suspended at the Sawtooth ski areas as the snow got too mushy to groom. On Friday grooming is scheduled to resume. In another weather related misfortune, the much beloved Pesky Grape Seeds, the  musical guests scheduled for this Sunday’s soup kitchen had to cancel their appearance. In any case, the rest of the show will go on and along with soup, cookies and bread, we are hoping for appearances from the fleet foxes, the black crows and perhaps a howlin’  wolf. Join the fun from11-3. At Park Creek, a Poker Run with fabulous prizes, delicious chili and scrumptious cookies is scheduled from 11-1 on Saturday. Be there or be square!
