Breakdown…

On A. Dry cold Saturday at the Alturas Lake Ski area, the Trail to the Lake as far as the junction, Over the Hill and South Loop got one new pass with the ginzu groomer, knocking down blown drifts and adding classic tracks. At that point grooming came to an abrupt stop with a rather loud kapow!!! We will return on Sunday to try to figure it out. We are hoping it is just a damaged drive belt.

All trails at Alturas Lake and Park Creek have been compacted and rolled. Davinius hopes to ginzu in some classic tracks to the lake today, building on the great base Chadeus Maximus laid down yesterday.

The storm has passed, the sky is blue, the snow is deep. We are working at compacting more than a foot of snow that has blown across the trails at Park Creek and Alturas Lake. You probably should wait to ski the trails until they are in better shape, Our grooming team has pulled on their snow pants and are working to restore service at both ski areas.
