On Monday, the 28th day of November, ongoing grooming at the Alturas Lake ski area knocked down 2” of new snow and further enhanced the trails we have been working on for the past week with the addition of some directional signs. Trails have been covered with just enough snow to result in remarkably good skiing for this time of year. Many of those who have tried it over the last week were “dumbfounded and amazed”, describing the skiing as “glorious” and “unbelievable”. Perhaps they were just a bit overly enthusiastic, finding themselves on the peaceful trails after the travails of this last off season. After grooming today, Chadeus Maximus, our excellent veteran groomer and turkey-day spatchcocker, reported the ski trails to be verrry cold not especially glorious and decidedly deserted. Park Creek trails been a little too sparsely covered to begin grooming up until now but hopefully this new snow will change that.
