On February 14th, after 3 to 4 inches of new snow blew in overnight, all trails at Alturas Lake were ginzu groomed for skate and classic. One might expect windblown snow to creep over trails in open meadows and to obscure the kick and glide of otter tracks down the creek.

The ski trails at Park Creek and Alturas were all groomed yesterday and are rated as “Yes, definitely super.”

On Saturday, February 11th, ski trails at Alturas and Park Creek are groomed and have been rated as “YES, MIGHTY FINE”…

On February 9th, all trails at Alturas and Park Creek were about as good as they get.

After trails were groomed to perfection on Tuesday, four inches of snow fell overnight at the Alturas ski area. More grooming is scheduled there today to knock it back into shape. At Park Creek, trails were also excellently groomed yesterday and although we could not get through for a morning briefing, we assume that if it snowed there as well, our veteran, seasoned, grizzled groomer Thadeus Maximus will do his best to make things right.
