2021-2022 Season Almost Here
WAITING FOR THE SNOW

WAITING FOR THE SNOW
We have received word that upwards of 40 trees fell on Park Creek ski trails in the big wind that recently swept through the Sawtooths. That means an end of grooming trails at Park Creek for this season. (This is not an April fool’s joke.) Alturas trails remained unscathed except for a few branches and a layer of desert sand littering the snow. Chadeus Maximus is out grooming today, April 1st, and we plan to continue grooming Alturas trails at least through the coming weekend.
On Tuesday, the 30th of March, the Trail to the Lake, Over the Hill and South Loop were groomed for Skate and Classic. North Cabin was also groomed for skate and touring but no classic there. As snow melts, tree wells advance, and passage over the bridge narrows, the grooming season is coming to an end. As we enter into April, this will likely be our last weekend of grooming. Don’t miss out on your last chance to ski the grooves and have a barrel of fun.
On Sunday, the 28th of March, all skate lanes at Alturas lake were refreshed with a Ginzu grooming. Classic tracks remain limited to the Trail to the Lake and are sketchy in some areas.
On Friday, March 26th all trails at Alturas Lake were groomed. The skate lanes all looked great and the Trail to the Lake had classic tracks as well… kind of sketchy as far as the bridge but better from the bridge to the lake.
